To ensure listings remain consistent, please follow the guidelines carefully and select no more than three appropriate categories or experiences for each submission. Listings that do not comply with our submission standards may be edited or removed.
Many region owners prefer to prepare their own descriptions and images, while others would rather leave the writing to an experienced reviewer. Both options are available. If you are happy to write your own listing, simply complete the submission form.
During the initial development of OpensimRegions.com, the majority of reviews are being produced by the site administrator and a small team of volunteer reviewers who generously donate their time to help build the directory. Their contributions are helping to establish a comprehensive showcase of the best regions across both OpenSim and Second Life.
Once the website is fully established and users are able to submit and manage their own listings, our reviewers will continue to offer a professional review service. As preparing a comprehensive review typically takes well over an hour and includes researching the region, visiting in-world, taking and editing high-quality promotional images, verifying information and writing an original article suitable for publication, this service will no longer be offered free of charge.
The standard fee for a professionally prepared review will be **1,000 Lindens** in Second Life or the equivalent of **1,000 Gloebits or 1,000 Podex** within OpenSim, depending on the virtual world in which the review is commissioned. This modest charge helps compensate reviewers for the considerable time involved in producing a high-quality listing while remaining affordable for region owners wishing to professionally promote their destinations.
